EDM Polishing Stone · Aluminum Oxide · Medium-Hard Structure with Moderate Breakdown

Our most popular EDM Polishing Stone! Similar to the AM-8, the AS-9 is an aluminum oxide finishing stone engineered for hand stoning EDM (electrical discharge machining) scale surfaces as well as cutting marks and machining marks on all types of mold and die steels. It’s a bit softer than the AM-8 offering faster breakdown and the ability to conform to the shape of the tool being polished. The special formulation of the AS-9 provides a fast, smooth cutting action during hand stoning and flat lapping. Best used for hand polishing with one of our Hand Holders but can also be used in reciprocating profilers like our U-Lap and Turbo-Lap Air Profilers. Can be used with or without a lubricant. Try our Premium Stoning Oil or BORI-LUBE 10! 

Available in 100-1200 grit and a wide variety of sizes including round and triangle shapes.
Also available in regular and fine grit kits.
Note: Dress stone to open up pores before use.
