Maintenance Technician - Second Shift

Summary
Responsible for working with the maintenance team to install, repair and replace equipment and facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs preventative and/or routine maintenance on equipment and facilities
• Trouble shoots and diagnoses problems, equipment issues, and executes repairs
• Uses vendor technical support when required
• Works with manufacturing and engineering staff to problem solve and assure repairs are completed correctly
• Makes suggestions, works on teams, and helps to implement improvements
• Uses a process for work and is involved in continuous improvement efforts
• Ensures new equipment is operating properly, including utility hook ups
• Maintains building systems including: compressed air, water, sewer, and electrical
• Able to arm and secure building (open and disarm), trains users of the security system when required
• Understands all equipment, building and grounds maintenance
• Specifies electrical parts needed for repairs and works with outside suppliers to provision parts
• Observes safety and security procedures relating to purchases, storage, and disposal of materials and equipment
• Follows all policies and procedures regarding safety and environmental issues
• Adheres to BORIDE Core Values and Quality Policies
• Regular and consistent attendance is an essential responsibility of every job at BORIDE
• Other duties may be assigned and job duties may change according to work load or season

Competencies
• Strong knowledge of machine controls – programming and wiring
• Ability to read and/or understand machine manuals, wiring diagrams, blue prints and schematics
• Basic computer navigation ability – email, internet, applications, etc.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, electrical, plumbing and welding
• Mechanical aptitude and strong math skills
• Ability to operate measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc
• Ability to operate welding equipment, forklift, drill press, milling machines, and other maintenance equipment
• Organized, works within a process, excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma; at least 3 years of experience working with industrial controls and wiring, repair of hydraulics, welding and fabrication
• Experience with electrical and electrical diagnosis desired
• Able to diagnose problems and execute repairs on equipment and building independently
